Back on top!!!

Brave comes up big.  Abraham Lincoln may be a vampire hunter but very few know.  Nobody it seems is Looking for a Friend at the End of the World.  Colleen moves back into the top position with just Brett now nipping at her heels.  Without Brave, John and Faith plummet to the bottom of the standings, but there is still time. 

Opening up this weekend is People Like Us, Ted, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection and Magic Mike.  Also opening is Neil Young Journeys and Take this Waltz.  Brave shook up the league last weekend but with G.I. Joe out and nobody picking Magic Mike, there doesn’t look to be much change in the league.  That is unless the masses sit through a drama about long lost siblings reconnecting or a talking teddy bear.  Surprise me!

We have a new leader!!!

John has taken the top spot from Colleen in the ‘Overall’ division despites Rock of Ages dismal opening.  In the ‘Blockbuster’ division, Colleen falls to third when you take out her total from ‘The Rest’ movie grosses.  For the others, Chuck continues to slide while Beth is entrenched in that last spot previously held by Jeff.

Coming up this week is Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Brave, and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.  Well I am thinking about grabbing front row seats to watch “Honest” Abe kick some vampire butt.  Also coming out is Woody Allen’s To Rome With Love which could score big in ‘The Rest’ division.  This division is in dire need of a big money maker and this could be it.

Animals, aliens and classified ads …

Madagascar 3 and Prometheus come up big shaking the division to its core.  Those that were on the bottom are now on top.  In the overall, Colleen is leading the charge thanks to one of her Indie movies coming up big.  She is just $6 mil in front of Brett and John. 

Coming out this week is Rock of Ages, That’s My Boy and Your Sister’s Sister.  Except for only a couple of movies, ‘The Rest’ category is a bit lacking in the big score.  Only one has managed to crack the $5 million mark while less than a handful a million.  Quite a few have come out in recent weeks, here is hoping they have a wide release in the near future.

Snow White is saved!!!

This past weekend Snow White and the Huntsman wrestled in $56 million which isn’t a bad take.  However, it still has a long way to go before making up that $170 million budget.  In our league Chuck is still holding on to a dwindling $14 mil lead.  Faith has been shaving the lead for the past couple of weeks.  Both have used at least half their movies and could watch a contender to slip by.  When breaking out the movies, Chuck is still on top of the ‘Blockbuster’ division while Colleen is running away with ‘The Rest’.  I am not so sure she can be caught now.   

 Several movies are opening this week which could factor into a division shake up.  Two biggies come out Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted and Prometheus.  As for the little guys Bel Ami, Lola Versus, and Safety Not Guaranteed.  All three movies have received good reviews.  If you are falling behind maybe some matinees are in order!
