Starting off in an Arctic Blast ...

The story so far ...
Jenna for the sweep! During a season of surprises where a horror movie took a top spot and the big name sequels just under performed, heck even what has been a decades old joke is now DC's highest growing film, her lead never really wavered.  Wonder why Jenna built up a big lead? Well, she didn't fall into the Girl in the Spider's Web or Mortal Engines trap.  They both bombed and finished 22nd and 24th for opening weekend ticket sales.  Jenna's worst top ten finished 13th.  That's over a $10 million dollar difference from the trap movies.  Fun fact, Kevin's was 15th.  He missed the traps mentioned before, but sadly failed to pick either 1st or 2nd.

Up next is SPRING LEAGUE!  This is one of the shortest movie opening lists in recent years.  Could be a tight race to the finish with only a handful of sequels and and some A-Listers headlining.  Work your way through the titles and give me between 12 and 15 picks.  Game on!

Into the Night we go, but will we see the sixth sense or be stuck in a village ...

The story so far ...
As the holiday season winds down, it looks like Jenna may just pull out the sweep.  This season had the makings of a race to the finish. However Jenna took control in November.  Ned tried several times  to unseat Jenna.  In a season where a horror movie is going to take first place, big box office openings are nonexistent, and blockbusters were only in it for the long run, league totals are at an all time low.  Yet Jenna has pretty much sat in first place most of the season.

Glass opens up on this frigid snowy blustery holiday weekend.  M. Night's very own trilogy and his personal take on the comic book genre opens.  Over New Years it was projected to possibly make over $70 million which could dethrone Jenna in either one or both.  However, projections have now dropped to $50 million.  Which is basically the last weekend, it all comes down to this.  Does Jenna take home the prize or does Jeff and/or Chuck sneak in for the steal?

Soon the league should be receiving an email for the Spring League picks.  Just in time for a holiday weekend that looks less than desirable to be traveling.  Kick back, put a log on the fire, start watching the Oscar hopefuls and make a few picks this weekend.  Spring League looks to be stocked full of landmines!

Only one release this week, craziness.  How does he do it?

Cold weather, cold box office ...

The story so far ...
Guess what, chicken butt!  Also, nothing happened in the standings and Escape Room wasn't even on the picks list at the beginning at the season.  So...let's move on.  This week more of the same.  Aquaman will have some stiff competition this week with A Dog's Purpose and On the Basis of Sex.

Next week will determine the league with Glass coming out.  Not widely held, but the critics are expecting it to come out big.  Just how big you might ask?  They are now projecting over a $70 million opening release.  It might even take down Halloween!  January isn't known for it's big releases so Glass has it's work cut out.

The season not panning out for you!  Where you burned by Mortal Engines and/or The Girl in the Spider's Web? Coming up is the Spring League season.  Hope to have the picks out next week.  The season starts the first weekend in February.
