BP's reign lasts 5 weeks!

The story so far ...
We are about to enter the last month of the season.  Mark and Kevin inch ever closer to Jeff with a one movie advantage. Chuck moves into striking distance but will now call upon his bench with Show Dogs moving to may.  If only did Jeff knew that Early Man was going to be a bomb.  It had Bill Hader. C'mon, everyone loves Stefan!

Black Panther takes down Tomb Raider

The story so far ...
If you have been following movie news over the past couple of weeks.  You would have read or heard about The Avengers moving their opening up one week.  Yes this puts it's release days during Spring League, but more on that later.

The splash that has been felt by this change has been the biggest.  Rampage moved to early April while Overboard and Show Dogs now have release dates in May.  Thank goodness for alternates, eh! The reason for the move? Disney wants to make more money.  They felt the release dates for The Avengers and Han Solo were to close.  Yes, maximizing profits won out.

As for our league, this means that The Avengers will now not be picked. This may have little or no impact.  If we all think that it will have the biggest opening, then no loss.  If you started looking ahead to the summer releases and think there is one or two better ... Han Solo, now we have a reason. There are three ways to handle this:
1.) Summer League starts at the normal time but leave The Avengers off
2.) Summer League starts at the normal time but add The Avengers to the list
3.) Move Summer League up the week before to include The Avengers
What say you?

There is no wrinkle in time in Wakanda ...

The story so far ...
The Cloverfield Saga may have come to an end, abruptly I might add.  So back in '08, Bad Robot came out with a really good movie.  Of course, if you are one who can't ride in the passenger seat of a moving car, than no.  Eight years later they came out with the thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane.  Things were looking promising.  The movies were sequels, but they were not.  Each were unique but connected.  You get the picture.  Sadly, they might should have waited another eight years for the last installment.  It's never a good thing when a studio starts selling the movie off and they haven't even called wrap yet.  So that the movie would see the light of day, Netflix stepped in and tried to tie it to the biggest audience of the year.  What does this mean for our league?  What was once going to be a theatrical release is now just another movie you can stream.  On the plus side, you don't have to wait.  However, if you picked it?  You are using your first alternate.  Rosters should be adjusted in the upcoming weeks.

In other news, Black Panther is still kicking ...

Oscar bait ...

The story so far ...
Black Panther continues to roll along as the league bunches up.  With each $60+ million weekend by BP, it's hard for any other movie to make much.  Openings are underperforming.  This week, A Wrinkle in Time and Gringo will throw their hat into the ring.  Can they bust through?
