We have reached the midpoint!

The story so far ...
This season was all about your ranking skills.  For the first time in this league's history, there will be a tie. (A FOUR-WAY TIE at that) "How you like them apples."  Doesn't really apply here, but I like the quote.  Looking ahead, they all have the same three movies remaining.  The Blockbuster this season will boil down to alternatives and those would be Dunkirk, Captain Underpants, & Valerian and something about cities.  The fourth has Diary of a Wimpy Kid but we already know that Captain Underpants has made more.  Looks like right now the magic number is $23 million.

The only way this plays out any different is if The Emoji Movie, Annabelle Amityville, and/or The Nut Job 2 comes out big.  Who knew that back in April, The Mummy was going to be so influential.  On another note, Transformers scored big to date! In almost a week, it has made almost $200 million .. overseas.  Here, it has just made below $70.  Asia and Europe might just be in love with Hollywood.

Out this week is Despicable Me 3.  Next week is Spider-Man.  The following week is War for the Planet of the Apes.  With not very movies picked in the second half, this will all but wrap up most of the league.

Fact: next Monday is June 26th.  Fact: the halfway point for the league isn't until the following week.  Fact: after next weekend, everyone will have fewer than five openings.  Fact: nobody banked on the second half, someone always had.  Fact: there are still four teams tied in the Blockbuster.  Given: we pretty much picked all the same movies.  Emotion: Craziness.

Wonder Woman outlasts ...

The story so far ...
After earning over $100 million opening weekend, Wonder Women comes back strong raking in another $58 million last weekend.  What does this mean?  Wonder Woman has pretty much outlearned all other DC movies in their second weekend.  This list does include Green Lantern, Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman.  I am quite pleased with this fact, since they waited so long to make it!

In league news, we have a tie for first, a four-way-tie for first.  As we enter the middle of June, or Pixar-time, the slim pickings this summer is really taking a toll on the first half.  Last place is literally only $55 million behind.  That is the closet last place has ever been at this time during the season in league history.  Maybe I can bounce back from King Arthur yet.
