The story so far ...
The Holiday season ends and the Spring League begins! Jenna holds off Ned to claim the top spot in both leagues. Looks like Resident Evil's (RE) move to January was unwise. RE suffered it's lowest opening weekend in franchise history. Jenna placed her money on Christmas and the holiday produced. It has always been that way.
Look ahead to Spring League, I have received four sets of picks so far. Sadly with the short turn around and few tentpoles (studios don't bank much on the spring months) to rely on, picking has been a bit of a crapshoot. Take a moment over the next couple of days and rank your top 15 (10 score). Run it up the flagpole and see how well you do on the fly!

The story so far ...
So it all boils down to this. Jenna is trying to pull off the sweep. She is sitting in a very good spot with only a weekend to go! However, there is one "Hail Mary" left out there. Ned has one chance to pull this off. Resident Evil needs to open to the tune of $33,000,000. If it manages to open to more than $45,500,000, then he would take the Multipliers as well.
Sit back, the Holiday Season enters it's final weekend. Starting a week from this Friday (1/27) is Spring league. Just 2 1/2 weeks left to get your picks in. Challenging doesn't even begin to describe how hard it will be to pick a top ten!

We have a new leader in the Blockbusters! Chuck's attempt to go wire to wire has come to an end. The Holiday Season is always a hard one to predict. Jenna has maybe finally found the answer. Simply put, pick Kevin Hart. After coming in second for several seasons, Jenna went with Sing and it paid off.
Jenna narrowly squeaked by Chuck and now waits for the end to happen. On the plus side, her lead will continue to grow with The Founder. However, it needs a decent opening. Ned is sitting with Resident Evil which has had a history of $40 million plus openings. If The Founder flounders, there could be a chance. Stay tuned ...

It all boils down to this. Chuck's lead might not just hold out. January can be a cold and very long month. His almost $21million lead might not be just enough to bring home the bacon.
There are 4 possible ways this could end. Chuck could hold off all. This means the remaining openings fall flat. It's happened many times before. Jenna could pull off the sweep. Yes she has Multipliers in the bag. She just needs Hidden Figures (moving to wide this weekend) and The Founder to make a total of $21.72 million (or more). Not impossible but it's January. A third option would be Ned with Resident Evil. RE has always drawn big crowds in the past, but sadly none in January. Finally, there is Chris. Chris has three openings left and who knows, come from way back.
