Video Games eh; Circus no; Space opera, Sweet!

The story so far ...
Cold temps set in and the Holiday season is winding down. Just a couple of movies left to go!  Who will decide the winner?  Ned has a stuff bear and Mark has the third installment of the "It's not the Hunger Games but a Death Maze."  Chuck has an outside chance with Proud Mary but her next hit better score big.

Star Wars: The Last 'Big Opening'

The story so far ...
I am confused.  There is much controversy over The Last Jedi, yet it made over $220 million.  They say Justice League is a bomb making $93 million in it's opening weekend.  I found them both entertaining to watch.

Ned moves to 2nd in the Blockbusters and takes over the Multipliers thrown.  Ferdinand didn't have much of an impact, but the race is just heating up on the doorstep of Christmas.

It's here ...

The story so far ...
Star Wars isn't going to have much of an affect on the league.  Everybody picked it first! However, I'm thinking of a $200 million plus opening definitely could be a a possibility.

The length of the calm had no predetermined length ...

The story so far ...
How ironic is it that Just Getting Started opens this weekend and Colleen is dead last with by far the most movies left to open.  The best part, she picked Just Getting Started.  Will it become foreshadowing in a couple of weeks?

In other news, Star Wars is just a week away and the tickets have been bought!

The calm before the storm ...

The story so far ...
Coco rules the weekend but the Wednesday start hurt the total numbers.   Although $50 million is a decent opening, not much impact on the league.  Only $56 million separate the top four teams.  This might be going down to the wire.  Christmas is approaching and the movies yet to be released are dwindling.

Can I just say that the wait for Star Wars is excruciating.  Especially because every site, blog, news agency out there is trying to out do each other with spoilers. Why go see a movie where you already now 90% of the plot?  And while we are on the subject, can we please have more Tom Hanks movies.  Colleen can't finish dead last again!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The story so far ...
Justice League sputters and has the lowest opening for a DCU movie.  Ouch, not even Wonder Woman can save this wreck.  On another note, I am going this weekend and will continue supporting them.  Can I just say that they are still better than '80s comic book movies.

In other news, Coco could be big.  Now there is a Frozen 2 promo showing before it.  This could be big!  Only thing stopping it now would be the fact that it opens tomorrow.  Remember, family this week and movie on the weekend.

Mighty Thor ....

The story so far ...
The grandpas faired better than the grandmas, but were also steamrolled by Thor.  With one debate settled now onto our next.  Marvel vs. DC will be the focus at the box office this week with Justice League coming out.  I doubt that Thor will win the weekend, but can JL pull in $120 million.  The reviews are not as good, so it will be a challenge.

In our league, Jeff and Jenna continue to go back and fourth. Both have the most openings. However the rest of the league is playing catch up.  With November half over, in their case hopefully December has bigger returns.

Grandma failed, what do you have for me Grandpa ...

The story so far ...
Bad Mom's were hoping to make it back to box office gold, but sadly fell short even with the help of their grandmas.  Now it's time to see if the Daddy's Home sequel will fair better.  Who will win, grandmas or grandpas?
